If you think that white hair cannot look stylish, you are terribly mistaken! White hair can and will look absolutely gorgeous if it gets certain care to keep its whiteness and not turn into the yellowish color (which is so NOT stylish!) we are afraid of so much. Follow the little tips and tricks described below to find out the ways to keep your hair white AND stylish.

How to Remove the Yellow Color from White Hair

Before passing to the ways of keeping our hair white, let’s first find out why our hair loses its color with the age. The pigment which gives our hair its color is known as melanin. As we become older, we start losing this pigment little by little, and with the loss of the pigment, we lose our hair color and end up with white or gray hair. And at times, white or gray hair acquires a faint shade of yellow. This may happen for a number of reasons among which we can mention excessive smoking, staying in the sun for a long time, using certain types of medication (this can have an affect not only on your hair, but also your skin and nails), etc.

So, how exactly do we remove the yellow from our gray hair? By making this amazing hair mask, that’s how! To make the mask, you need 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and a little bit of 3 % hydrogen peroxide. Start of by making a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide and applying it to your damp hair. After leaving the paste sit for about 15 minutes, rinse off your hair with warm water and apply the apple cider vinegar. Dry your hair with a towel.

Another product professionals suggest trying on yellow hair is lemon juice. Lemon juice is a great pollutant killer, and pollutants can be the cause of the yellowish color. After washing your hair as you usually do, apply the juice squeezed from one lemon to your damp hair and leave it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. No trace of the yellow color will be visible!
